Technical Polymers' patented ECOMASS products have been selected by the golf industry for use in a number of applications. The GolfSmith retail stores are currently promoting a weighted tape that can be applied to the back of golf clubs to provide increased impact weight. A number of ECOMASS custom compounds have been developed for Ping, which are molded into decorative weighted plaques that are assembled into the cavity backs of its golf clubs. Seven different compounds of varying specific gravities have been developed and qualified by Ping, allowing them to customize the weight of its golf club product offerings.

ECOMASS materials can be used to achieve varying specific gravity requirements and certain of these compounds also provide the same shielding characteristics of lead without being toxic or carcinogenic. ECOMASS materials are finding their way into applications replacing lead, as it is non-toxic to the environment.
